A | (ECNS) -- China's Zhang Shuai and Czech partner Katerina Siniakova won the women's doubles title at the WTA 1000 event in Toronto on Thursday, defeating Sara Errani of Italy and Nicole Melichar-Martinez of the United States 6-3, 6-4 in the final. It was Zhang’s fourth doubles title of the season, following wins in Adelaide, at the Australian Open and in Linz, and her second career WTA 1000 doubles trophy after Cincinnati in 2021. Zhang, 37, reached the Canadian Open doubles final for the second straight year, having finished runner-up in 2025. After the match, she thanked Siniakova and Chinese fans in attendance, saying their support made the event feel like playing at home. (By Helen Mo, intern Yang Hongran)
