Chinese short-drama platform moves to curb 'copy-paste' AI faces_我的网站

一 |     (ECNS) -- Chinese short-drama platform Hongguo Short Drama has announced new rules for AI-generated characters, seeking to curb the repeated use of similar-looking faces across different shows and make characters more distinctive.    Viewers have complained that protagonists in some AI-generated short dramas look strikingly alike. In several shows featuring middle-aged female leads, characters share similar eyebrows, double eyelids and lip shapes, and even their smiling and crying expressions closely resemble each other.    Under the new rules, creators are encouraged to develop more distinctive character designs and avoid using highly similar faces across different dramas. Characters within the same show should also be clearly distinguishable. Hongguo said it will launch a campaign targeting frequently reused AI faces, homogenized content and improper use of materials, while asking creators to review and revise problematic works.    Separately, Douyin’s Short Drama Creator Center launched a pre-screening tool for AI-drama copyright holders and production teams on Aug. 3. The tool is designed to identify potential risks before a work is released, including likeness-rights and copyright issues involving source materials.    (By Intern Yang Hongran, Zhang Dongfang)                    。    Arjun Rampal has opened up about one of the most emotionally harrowing moments in Dhurandhar. He revealed that the 26/11 sequence has stayed with audiences long after they left the theatre, was in fact, one of the most difficult scenes to film. In the film, Ranveer Singh plays Hamza Ali Mazari, a conflicted spy whose shock and internal collapse during the depiction of the Mumbai attacks forms one of the narrative’s most powerful turning points. Rampal, who plays Major Iqbal, appears in the same sequence. Alongside him is Akshaye Khanna who portrays a chilling character which in turn creates a stark contrast that amplifies Hamza’s turmoil.     Taking to Instagram, Arjun shared a heartfelt note about his co-stars and the intense journey of making Dhurandhar. He praised Akshaye Khanna for “owning” his role, called R. Madhavan a “pure genius,” and expressed admiration for Sanjay Dutt with his signature warmth. His message to Ranveer, however, stood out—“To the beast, the wrath of God… It was a beautiful journey to watch your focus, determination, mad methods… You were unabashed, fearless and endearing. Thank you for the ice baths… The last dance belongs to me.” The camaraderie between the cast is evident, but so is the weight of what they brought to the screen.                                                                 View this post on Instagram          A post shared by Arjun Rampal (@rampal72)                     When a fan asked how the actors felt while shooting the emotionally charged 26/11 scene, Rampal responded candidly: “Most difficult scene of my life.” Viewers echoed the emotional impact—one shared that the “whole theatre went silent,” adding that even their father, usually unmoved by films, was in tears.     Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar has emerged as one of the year’s biggest box office successes, collecting over Rs 150 crore so far. Backed by strong performances from Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and a career-defining turn by Ranveer Singh. The film has given the industry a powerful year-end boost.     Arjun Rampal’s revelation adds to the understanding of how deeply the film’s most haunting moments has affected not just the viewers, but also the artists who brought them to life. Also Read: Dhurandhar Box Office Day 4: Ranveer Singh’s Film Sees a Dip in Collection。
