Speaking with a trembling voice, she said,  “I wish I had been at the farm on the same day I was with Dharmendra two months ago… I wish I had seen him there.”     Hema Malini also spoke about Dharmendra’s love for poetry and how she would often encourage him to publish his writings. Hema Malini recalled asking him, “Why don’t you publish your beautiful poems and writings?” but Dharmendra would simply smile and reply, “Not now… Let me finish some poems first.”  Hamad added sadly, “But time didn’t spare him, and he passed away…” Explaining why his final rites were not public, Hema Malini said Dharmendra always wanted his dignity intact. Hamad quoted her saying, while she wiped her tears: “But what happened was a mercy… because, Hamad, you couldn’t have borne to see him in that state. His condition in his final days was cruel… painful… and even we could hardly bear to see him like that.” Hamad concluded his note with a tribute to the actor, writing, “My forever hero legendary Superstar DHARMENDRA.”      Dharmendra, who passed away on November 24, and his final rites were held on November 25.
