一 |     Colombo, Oct 15 (UNI) Sri Lanka has sought support from the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to assist the government’s initiative to establish a digital database of the country's labour workforce, a newspaper reported on Saturday.
Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena pointed out that the Labour Ministry has taken steps to establish a comprehensive digitised database of the workforce and urged the ILO to assist in expediting the process, the Daily Mirror reported.
This was discussed when ILO Country Director Simrin C Singh and ILO Headquarters Senior Employment Specialist Sher Verick called on the Prime Minister this week.
The ILO received a first-hand briefing on the impact of the Covid pandemic and economic crisis on the labour workforce and the short-term and long-term steps taken by the government to recover the economy and to help the workers, especially the low-income labour force.
During the meeting, Singh pointed out that despite some signs of positive trends, most developing countries, including Sri Lanka, were faced with difficulties, due to global recession, limited fiscal space, debt sustainability challenges and rising inflation.
The Prime Minister said the government was keen to make the labour workforce upwardly mobile and explained the multitude of training programmes launched for skill development.
The ILO delegation assured fullest support to all the efforts taken by the government for the well-being of the labour and measures for upgrading the skills of the workforce.

二 | 这不，新家的一应设施买的买、建的建，弄得差不多了。我应该抽出身来，到外地打工，多挣点钱过个红火年。”11月19日，42岁的耿春亮一边在屋里准备安装家用电器，一边满怀希望地说。         在建昌县素珠营子乡党委和政府及相关部门大力帮扶下，10月下旬，素珠营子村耿春亮搬进了新居。他家三代同堂，此前，他们夫妻俩和孩子在城里租房住，父母在乡下亲戚家住。         “住了新房，家人又团聚了，真是好上加好。这不，20多天以来，我家又建了简易偏房，用来装杂物。屋里的相应设施也都置办完，如今宽敞明亮的新房跟城里的楼房没啥两样，日子越来越有盼头。”聊起目前的感受，耿春亮说他家五口人都很满意。         耿春亮是瓦工，抹灰、砌墙是行家里手。

三 | 作为家里的顶梁柱，他以前一直在外地打工，每个月五六千元，收入不错。停工3个月以来，他与妻子钟秋月一直在老家为盖新房的事忙前忙后。这回新家安置好了，他准备在11月25日前后到南方打工。         其实，有这个想法，耿春亮是受媳妇影响。

四 | 搬进新房后，心灵手巧的钟秋月就到县城一家小型服装厂打工。

五 | “有点损失没啥，党和政府那么关心咱，咱也得长点志气，不等不靠，家人齐努力，把小日子过得越来越红火。”          素珠营子乡共有D级倒损重建房90户、C级修缮房52户。

六 | 搬进新房后，该乡发挥组织引领作用，积极谋划，多方协调，虚心倾听受灾群众心声，尽最大努力解决他们的后顾之忧。目前，受灾群众中有多人次投入到环境整治工作中，他们每人每天挣150元至200元。         “也有像耿春亮一样会手艺的青壮劳动力，通过自身的人脉资源到外地打工。

七 | 同时，有打工意向却没有目的地的，乡党委和政府充分发挥组织协调作用，为他们找到‘施展才华、挣钱养家’的好去处。”素珠营子乡党委书记陈明说。
